New Worker Training (NWT)

State Employment First Staff attempt to manage the scheduling challenge within our capacity of providing training on a regular basis for new workers. Since the revolving door of county line staff leaving and coming into the program happens at unanticipated times throughout the year, it is difficult to always know when to ideally schedule the training. Often, training for new workers is also seen as refresher training for veteran staff to break up routine and any unintentional bad habits in program implementation that may emerge for a variety of reasons.

We want to do what we can to make sure counties are up to date with interpretations of operational approaches, accessing new resources, or keeping abreast with best practices. Below you will find the manual drafted for new workers, as well as New Worker Training PowerPoint Modules.  These are being made available on this website to give an opportunity for new staff to review what the State filed staff will instruct on prior to when the State may be able to calendar and conduct training, or as an ongoing reference for counties to keep to established standards.
